Dental Veneers

If your teeth are crooked, poorly shaped, chipped or badly discolored, dental veneers can give you the perfect smile you've been dreaming of. If you have unsightly gaps between your teeth, veneers can eliminate them entirely.

Dental veneers are thin custom-made, porcelain shells that are permanently applied to the front surfaces of your natural teeth. They are designed to hide all kinds of imperfections and are virtually undetectable.

How dental veneers are applied

Most dental veneer procedures can be completed in two weeks or less. During your first appointment, we will evaluate your teeth and make recommendations based on your desires and goals. In some cases, just a single veneer is needed. If a complete makeover is in order, several may be necessary.

Following the evaluation, we will make tooth impressions (molds) that will be used by laboratory technicians to create your custom veneers. We will also prepare your natural teeth to create room for your new veneers.

At your next visit, we will bond the veneers to your teeth and make sure they fit and function perfectly. The results are immediate and, by the end of your appointment, you will have a beautiful new smile.

Important facts about standard veneers

Dental veneers are made of porcelain and are more susceptible to staining than tooth enamel. Therefore, you may need to avoid certain foods and drinks. Although permanent, veneers can still chip and fracture and may need to be replaced over time.

Standard dental veneers require that tooth enamel be removed to accommodate them. Therefore, the procedure is irreversible.
